On Saturday, August 19th at the Mauzey hunting cabin The Land Learning Foundation hosted the Youth Squirrel Hunt. A safety presentation was given before the hunt. Throughout the morning, 6 boys got 24 squirrels, which were all cleaned that day. Clay Creech, an instructor, helped a student skin a squirrel quick and easy without getting hair on the meat. Clay and Hunter Creech also demonstrated how to start a squirrel skinning operation to the youth. After recipes and meal prep tips, the kids got to prep their catch and take it home with them.
